In September 2020, the students of twelfth grade at the Alonso Quijano High School, in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), began their first steps in the subject of Earth and Environmental Sciences (which we will call E&E from now on).

Between one class and another, their teacher Lucía Pajuelo decided to propose a challenge fro her students: the end-of-course project, which, after several weeks of thinking, the students decided to call GREEN QUIJANO. And since then, they have not stopped! Not even during the coronavirus quarantine!

How did they develop their ideas? What help did they receive?

The main idea of ​​the project revolved around the subject: our planet and the environment, nature... So, while some of the thinking heads of the colleagues planned talks, initiatives, questionnaires, and so on., others were dedicated themselves to make very visual and interesting presentations to raise awareness among students from 12 to 18 years old who are part of their institute.

So there it was, their first instinct: RAISE AWARENESS.

Among others, the Green Quijano members have received help in the form of, for example, talks, materials, etc., from EcoEmbes, IES Alonso Quijano, Alcalá City Council... and many more to whom they are infinitely grateful.

How far have they gone?

The members who are part of Green Quijano have managed to go very far despite the adversities they have had to face  They have not only been victims of the final exams of the twelfth grade, but also of the COVID-19 Quarantine, but nothing has been able to stop them, so they have still continued working.
